A Piece of Austin History

The iconic neon Lithoprint sign—a fixture of Austin’s printing legacy—dates back to 1944, when it was originally installed at Lithoprint on West 5th Street. According to local historical records, the sign became a recognizable part of Austin’s commercial landscape.

In 2025, PrintMailPro proudly acquired the sign as part of our purchase of the assets and local accounts from OneTouchPoint – Southwest. Today, the original porcelain sign remains intact, with the neon carefully restored to its original colors. It is proudly on display at our Tuscany location, honoring the legacy of Austin’s print industry.

Lithoprint Company Timeline

• 1939 – Lithoprint Company is founded in Austin by Louis Lucien Hirschfeld.
• 1944 – The original neon Lithoprint sign is installed at 710 West 5th Street.
• 1982 – After over four decades, Hirschfeld retires. Lithoprint—then Austin’s oldest continuously owned commercial printing company—is sold to Dennis and Katherine Eckholm.
• 1987 – The company relocates to 1825 IH-35 South.
• 1999 – Lithoprint becomes a subsidiary of Wallace Company.
• 2007 – Lithoprint merges with Ginny’s Printing.
• 2012 – Ginny’s Printing merges with OneTouchPoint.

2025 – PrintMailPro acquires the assets and local accounts of OneTouchPoint – Southwest, including the historic neon sign.
